Psalm 143:8

Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul.

5 Minute Friday: Connect

Now, set your timer, clear your head, for five minutes of free writing without worrying about getting it right.

1. Write for 5 minutes flat – no editing, no over thinking, no backtracking.
2. Link back here and invite others to join in.
3. And then absolutely, no ifs, ands or buts about it, you need to visit the person who linked up before you & encourage them in their comments. Seriously. That is, like, the rule. And the fun. And the heart of this community..

OK, are you ready? Please give me your best five minutes on:::

Connect…

Connect.

We all feel it don't we? That need to be connected to something, someone, somehow, somewhere, some way?

It's almost a tugging, or a pulling...

Deep calls to deep....

Perhaps on purpose...perhaps created just for that.  A connection to the Creator.  Created to Creator.   Our Creator desires relationship with us...connection.  Our Creator put us together in just such a way that we have that need, that desire for relationship, as well.  Some choose other means to make a connection...not to the Creator but to something else that seems to fill that void, that space, hooks up that broken link.

But when we look to our Creator, when we move in close, and sit still, and hear His song over our very lives...we connect in the most perfect and beautiful and fulfilling way possible.  Created to Creator.  Connected, loved, put back together.

So go ahead...say a little prayer, breathe in the breath of God...and connect with your Creator...

  1. Hi Kelly,
Thanks for stopping by my blog. I am so thrilled we connected. I read a few of your recent blog posts and see you are signed up for the challenge of Hello Mornings. I just discoverd them last evening and I was thinking of signing up. I used to be a good 'morning' gal, but ever since chemotherapy...not so much. I do agree with your blog post...connecting with our creator is above all the absolute most important. Glad to meet you and glad our paths crossed.

  2. Thank you for sharing your 5 Minute Friday. I was way late sharing my because we took our oldest son back to college today. Sad but proud day. Thank you for sharing the reminder that our connection should always be to the Creator first. Have a blessed weekend!

    1. Ah, Marty! I know that sadness! My oldest is a senior at EWU this year...it's still hard to send him back to school and I've done it several times now, too. Mine goes back in just under a month, so I am savoring the time left with him! :) Hope your weekend is blessed as well! Hugs!

  3. "hear His song in our very life." Those words sang in my heart as I recalled those times I've felt that connection. Beautiful writing.
